Couldn't agree more! On my local news the Chicago Teacher's Union is constantly angry about something and all it does is hurt the children of Chicago. Teaching for the love of teaching seems to be lost.

My wife and her friends teach for the love of teaching. I believe, many who would love to teach because they love it, have left the career field, not because they want more money, but because they are forced to do everything but teach. They spend more time discipling children and dealing with bad parenting, so teaching gets done if it can get done. Admin. is strapped to the wishes of the school board and the bureaucracy goes on and on. Anyway, there are also folk who are in the education field, as you said, but don't really love teaching, they just need a paycheck. The system is corrupt and needs to be overhauled. That starts with we the people.

Thanks for the repost Cecil. I wrote this nearly 3 years ago and it’s true now more than ever. It’s a crime that we have allowed our public schools to degrade so much. It dooms generations of kids to an underachieving life or worse. We must let teachers teach. The union must go!!!!

A day will come when people will look back at the words we've all written, thought, or spoken, and the words you wrote in your book, and call us prophets or geniuses.
