Write about what you want to write about Cecil. Life is too short to spend it dissatisfied. I'll keep reading you my brother. Keep speaking the truth.

Yes! Write about what interests you. Personally, I feel there are many blogs about political matters and something different would be refreshing.

I’m going to look forward to your writings. I’ve said “Cecil gets it” more than once.

I do my best these days to avoid MSM for all the reasons you outline. And I agree with you I’m tired of all the bullshit of the last 5 years and the continuing kids stuff being played out.

I’m sure Donald Trump could give two shits if Barack or Michelle, Bill or Hillary - any of them - shows up. In fact he’ll probably be ecstatic if they don’t.

Get that next post out there ! We all could use a little bit of your wisdom.

I think you need to remember how many 'stacks there are now. I read your stuff sometimes. I read others' sometimes. There is simply too much.

Stay strong Mr. Grant. Your perspective frequently challenges me to think a little deeper, and that is all too necessary in a world where so many want to do my thinking for me.

That sounds good to me. You should take some time to write about things you really are interested in and bring you enjoyment. I am a substitute teacher in Portland Oregon, and I thoroughly appreciated your perspective on the crazy stuff that has been happening the past four years. Being in the public schools, I will still have to see a lot of virtue signaling and race-baiting because that's what many teachers are in to. But I am hopeful it will get better 🦋

Spot On! Do What's Right for You! This is my mantra for 2025!!!

2025 is going to be my "Year of JOMO—the Joy of Missing Out!" 🙌

A colleague and friend recently introduced me to this powerful concept, and it's exactly what I need. In 2025, I’m embracing the idea that saying “no” isn’t a setback; it’s a form of self-care. I’m intentionally choosing to opt out and be selective on events and activities I attend and avoid the chaos and distractions that once kept me feeling overwhelmed.

Instead, I’m prioritizing moments of stillness, relaxation, and contentment.

By reducing the noise, I can focus on what truly matters—my well-being, my relationships, my tight-knit circle of friends, my beautiful bride, and the things that bring me joy. The result - Less stress, more presence, and a renewed sense of purpose. ✨

I won't waste my energy trying to change opinions. I'm going to do my thing and don't care if they like it and I don't care what others think of me because it's none of my business.

In 2025, I’m fully committing to the joy of missing out and doing my thing. Who’s with me?

"Reducing the noise" is a great way of putting it. I appreciate your having shared that along with the rest of your comment.

That is exactly what I'm going to try to do as well.

Cecil and Joe, good luck to you both.

Keep doing what you're doing brother....we hear you.

Now, As my dad used to proudly say before reciting any quote or life lesson to us as kids "In the words of an old negro spiritual..."

"I Don't feel Noways Tired

I've come to farl from where I've started from

Nobody told me that the road would be easy

And I don't beleive he's brought me this far to leave me."

_______________

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted;

BUT THEY THAT WAIT UPON THE LORD SHALL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH;

they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. ISAIAH 40:29-31

I appreciate you. I'm tired, too. I only write when I have time and when I am able to do sufficient research. Most people don't have time for much more reading anyway. Quality over quantity. Do the job that journalists are supposed to do but few do. Find truth, test it, and then share it.

Maybe google the commentary of the great "liberal-conservative" William Raspberry who is now passed- views expressed here as well style seem similar to me...wrote for the Post and the NYT before their downward trend- what a liberal used to look like. So much now seems like a re-litigation of what he wrote then and we could do just do a "cut and paste"- but I guess now is a new context with AI taking over the world (time to watch the old terminator movies). What is old is new and new is old...but he was a national treasure to me.

My son gave me this book- helped me:

And a pipe helps also:

"A pipe is the foundation of contemplation, the source of pleasure, the companion of the wise, and the man who smokes thinks like a philosopher and acts like a Samaritan."

Cecil, this post caused me to subscribe to your 'Stack.

Even if you don't need to hear this from a subscriber, here goes: your writing is excellent; write what and when you like. I will commit to reading/watching/listening to your work and providing my thoughts on its content and structure, anything that might be helpful.

MANY of us are worn out by politics taking over the breathing space for the last few years, and we are DONE. Our lives as artists and creatives calls to us, and we're heeding that call.

I'm really looking forward to your next project.

Be well, OK?

"My writing is about whatever interests me, which can range widely." That's me and that's who I want to be. I look forward to your comments on my writing in the future.

Unfortunately, that is the business model- the more Jerry Springer controversy, the more clicks- the more time engaged, the more viewers, the more ads the more x, y, and Z, and that is not going away- need more people thinking deeply about all our nutty issues. Facebook might be free- but you are the product...and I know that feeling you describe...but refresh/rejuvenate- figure out what you want to say, and get back in Arena my friend.

https://youtu.be/A311CnTjfos

And nice quote from an old clip of JP shortly before University of Toronto tried to destroy his career: "Writing is thinking and people who write are deadly"... "for some reason- universities do not tell people this." He has other stuff than this one out there- but basic theme is "people aren't thinking much less critically thinking"- and no one likes people who say things that "make them feel uncomfortable" and might cause conflict- some fights are good to pick- "I feel unconformable" should be a phrase that should be stricken from the lexicon- need more people saying- well good- now why do unconformable and what is the argument- doing that and passing it along and mentoring others in the process- the best way to combat authoritarianism and totalitarianism in society.
