Thanks, I enjoyed reading. I remember being a kid and being the only black girl who got multiple awards. My mom was a teacher and we had to be the best. Or at least do our best. I’m not good in math either. It was always hard. I feel like this is a message i should teach to my children. There is nothing wrong with being the first nor is it wrong being the only.

With 60% of blacks living in a total of 10 states there’s a strong possibility we’re going to be the only one in many of the other 40 states. Embrace it and present yourself in the way you want to be seen vs the way the media presents us.

Great quote. 'Nobody looked like you' because the important things about us are inside. Faith is the only way to see the most important things.
