GOP v Democrats: Who wins it all in 2028
2028 is a long ways off. Don’t let it sneak up on you and please pay attention to and prepare for the 2026 elections as well as your state and local elections when they come up.
When the 2025-2026 football season begins, many “experts” will begin telling you who will win the Heisman Trophy at the end of the 2025 season. They will predict which players will be drafted by which team in 2026 and which player will be drafted #1 overall.
Remember how off base they were regarding Shador Sanders?
My “expert”prediction for who could win the White House in 2028 could be way off from what will really happen. This prediction is not based in statics but more in the here and now. It’s never too early to look at the landscape and get a feel for what may or may not happen in 2028. If nothing else it’s kind of fun and as much as I know my prediction will be wrong, wouldn’t it be something if I’m right in 2025 about what will happen on 2028?
Before I predict who will be the next president of the United States, I’ll look at the average age of each party, which party brings the most experience to the table, and what I believe their parties vision for America is. I will then select a candidate from each party and finish up with my 2028 presidential prediction.
In my previous essays, I presented the age of each of my potential candidates. For the democrats the average age of their candidates is 51.8 and the average age for the republicans is 52.8. For the democrats, my youngest candidate is AOC who currently is 35. The oldest candidate is Pritzker who is 60 years old. For the republican candidates, the youngest member is Vance who is 40 years old and the oldest is Abbott who is 67. If I execute what is called a trimmed mean and remove the youngest and oldest candidates, the average age for the democrats is 54.6 and for the republicans it’s 52.3.
The democrats seem to have done a better job of presenting younger candidates before they decided to go with Hillary and Biden. Bill Clinton was 46 when he ran for president in 1992 against George H.W. Bush who was 68. Barack Obama was 47 when he ran in 2008 against John McCain who was 72 at the time.
In my opinion, our government needs younger voices of reason on both sides of the isle. Specifically in congress where the elected officials serve longer than they need to holding on to the same old ideas, packaged differently with the same crappy results. The median age of the House is 57.9 and 64.7 for the senate. The oldest member of the House is Grace Napolitano from California. She is 88 years old. The oldest senator is Chuck Grassley for Iowa who is 91 years old.
In regard to age, I give a slight edge to the democrats.
My republican candidates have 3 governors, a former senator now vice-president and a former senator now secretary of state. Other than Vance who is relatively new to politics, the other candidates present strong resumés and have accomplished a lot. I believe any of them would be able to pick up where Trump leaves off and continue to move the DC needle in favor of the American people. Vance will continue to learn from being around Trump so by the time the election comes around he’ll be ready.
The democrats have 3 governors, a senator, and a congresswoman. In my opinion they haven’t done much. Their overall resumés are pedestrian at best. No one in this party seems to be doing anything for the American people other than resisting the current administration. They have no leadership, and at this time, no plan to make America great. As a party they are failing to read the room and are fighting against what Americans voted for.
Regarding experience, I give the win to the GOP.
I believe Americans want smaller government, lower taxes, secure and fair elections as well as a secure border. They want safer streets and schools that provide our children with an education based foundationally on reading, writing, math and American history. We are a nation who no longer wants to send our sons and daughters to fight other people’s wars. We want good jobs with fair pay. Most of all we want a government that is controlled by the people of this nation and is working everyday for the people of this nation. We need a government of democratic and republican leaders that are willing to work together to move our country forward. Our GOP candidates are working in this direction. The Democrats are not. They continue to claim racism is our biggest issue, opposing open borders is racist and now they have been caught in so many lies that many including some on my list, are reinventing themselves. We the people can’t fall for this masquerade anymore. Both parties need to move to the center if they truly want to represent America. The gap between the right and the left is becoming too wide and we are headed towards a one party system which would be disastrous.
Both parties and my candidates lose in this regard because too many times in the past they have said what we wanted to hear and then do what they want to do, which many times is nothing for the American people.
I believe the candidate for the democrats is not on my list, but since I have to select someone on my list, I believe the person who could be the future face of the party and the possible democratic candidate for president in 2028 will be Governor Josh Shapiro. I don’t know much about the governor, but his name keeps coming up. Since he’s not doing anything crazy and keeping his head down while working for the people of Pennsylvania, he will definitely be someone to watch over the next few years
I believe the candidate for the GOP will be JD Vance but he could get strong competition from DeSantis and Rubio if the current administration gets taken down by the manipulation media.
Because Mr. Vance was in the senate for only 2 years and is now the vice-president, his political accomplishments are minimal. His most memorable accomplishment was displayed in front of the nation when he successfully debated both the media and Governor Tim Walz. Going forward, I believe his accomplishments, or lack thereof will be attached to whatever the Trump administration accomplishes. If Trump is able to negotiate better trade deals, put an end to the aggressions in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as bring about the Golden Age in America, Vice-President Vance could find himself as the runaway leader on the road to the White House in 2028.
I believe Shapiro will present a centrist position that will win over many Americans. As long as he is not endorsed by the usual liberal DC crowd, he could be a formidable foe for Vance.
Vance will run on the record of Trump as long as we enter into the Golden Age as promised. Otherwise he and every member of the GOP will be working to decouple themselves from the Trump train. Vance would have to reinvent himself quickly.
In the end I believe Vance will pull it out and win by a small margin.
This was a fun exercise. Save these essays and see how close or far off I was from hitting the bullseye.
2028 is a long ways off. My plan is to revisit this topic late in 2026 early 2027. Don’t let it sneak up on you and please pay attention to and prepare for the 2026 elections as well as your state and local elections when they come up.
I agree and believe we will vote in a Vance/Rubio administration in 2028.
